My experience with this agent was exhausting.
I recently purchased my first home and was looking to purchase homeowners insurance. I had previously had my vehicle insurance through American Family in a different location than the location of the home I purchased. I chose to go to the closes American Family agent to my home because my service with my previous agent had been very positive.
However, my new agent made things feel very cumbersome and difficult. I met my new agent for an initial meeting about purchasing the homeowners insurance before closing on the house. I spent over three hours with the agent going over the details and options of the insurance available. I was not upset with the amount of time spent because this was my first time purchasing homeowners insurance and I was interested in learning as much as I could.
After the initial meeting the agent would frequently call me asking if I was interested in purchasing other services with him. This is what upset me most about my new agent. Over time my agent began to feel like more of a sales man than an insurance agent. I became irritated with the amount of call and voicemails from his office asking about other services. When I finally did close on my house and went to finalize my home insurance it again took nearly three hours. This time I was upset with the length of time because I felt confident with what I wanted to purchase to insure my home. During this second meeting I felt like I was being talked down to and this upset me.
