I would have to give him a low grade
I was introduced to him as a reputable agent by someone else who attended the same church at the time. I went to his office, and he wrote Home and Auto policies with multi-car discounts, and all was well. The home was built on a golf course in 1998, brick construction with heavy lifetime architectural shingles. I even played golf on this course a time or two with the agent. A few years later, severe Spring storms slammed the area where we live, causing much property damage. This was in early April of 2010, I think. I called the FBITN Claims number and explained the damage to the roof, missing shingles, etc., and they promised to have an adjuster right over. Some days later, an adjuster did show up, and assessed damage to the roof was extensive enough to warrant replacing the entire roof. Nothing more happened. Scarcely a week later, a second tier of storms rolled through, taking even more shingles from the roof! Because of the extent of damage claims in the area, we were unable to reach our agent by phone, so I submitted a claim for roof damage online at FBITN.com. Some days later, yet another adjuster came by, and decided that he could not determine if the damage was due to golf balls, wind, hail, someone walking on the shingles, reindeer, aliens, or something else. Therefore, Farm Bureau would only pay $6500 (50%) towards the shingle replacement cost of around $14000. We ended up using money from savings to offset what should have been 100% coverage.
