Referred to me by a friend that I went to college with. Chris is a young guy who is about my age so we can relate to each other pretty well. I bought life insurance through him for both myself and my wife. The premium price was fair if not lower than most and he was very helpful explaining what everything meant and how he planned out my retirement, based off of the financial information I have given him. Ideally I would like to retire before 65, wouldnt we all? So they way he did it took that into account, and while my current savings habits fell somewhat short of that goal, the plan we laid out was well thought through and made a lot of sense. Although I do not think I will have as many monthly payments that I do now, taking that into account keeps it very conservative. He also talked about the dividends that my account would accrue, and that NW mutual has always paid out a dividend in its long history. That information was very reassuring. SO I bought a plan of mostly term life insurance, and a small part of whole life. As I go through life I will convert more and more and more of my term to whole, so while it is more expensive, I will be actually be accumulating cash for retirement at a much faster rate than if I tried to save it another way seeing as I max out my 401k and roth ira.
