We actually started out at Farm Bureau with a different agent that lived near my hometown and were eventually moved to Kate. I haven’t had much need to get in contact with her over the years, aside from when I received an OWI a number of years ago. She was very kind about the incident and we were able to get our policy changed to cover my new driving status. We are starting to plan a family and started looking for ways to cut costs, and we are actually cancelling our policy next month and going with a different provider. I did give her a chance to come back with any potential better price, and she let me know she appreciated that I didn’t just immediately cancel. Kate was extremely understanding about the whole process and made the transaction relatively painless. I don’t enjoy confrontation and actually mentioned to my wife that because Kate was so nice about everything that I almost didn’t want to cancel.
We did have one slightly negative experience in which our old credit card was expiring and we needed to have Farm Bureau update our info. It ended up becoming an issue, and instead of paying monthly like we had been, we had somehow been set up to pay in full, which forced us to shift our monthly budget around to cover the payment. We also incurred a payment rejection fee because they did not update our information in time. However, Kate did everything to set it right and I believe actually wrote us a personal check to reimburse us for the fee, so ultimately the experience was more positive than negative.
