This past week, my dog was attacked by a pitbull and subsequently killed from the injury. I had to deal with the vet bills and such, and I found out online that such things can be covered by the other dog owner’s insurance. As Will is my contact for my homeowners insurance, I brought the claim to him. Rather than telling us how we can go and file it with the dog owner’s incsurane, he told us that You need to focus on yourself and your family right now. I can take care of the paperwork for you.. All he needed after that was some paperwork and he was able to get it from us or through calling the vet. He even asked if were looking at getting another dog within the next year or so as he old us that such things would be covered by the other insurance company. He said that this is the case as the job of an insurance company is to return things to as normal as possible.
One thing that surprised me was that he asked for a photo of my dog and a little snippet or story about what happened to the dog as his agency has a close relationship with the nearby humane society and during the county’s “bark in the park” fundraiser, he will have a table up with the raffle for a donation in my dog’s name to the humane society.
