It's been ok, not quite great but not bad enough to drive me to find another agent.
It’s been good enough, but not wonderful. I don’t think I’d go out of my way to recommend him, but I’m not dissatisfied enough to do another search and find someone else. Most often I have talked to his assistant, because when I’ve called I’ve mostly had easy questions that the assistant was able to answer. It was difficult when we went to buy a new car last year. I had specifically called and asked if I would be able to buy the car and then add it to our insurance after I bought it. I wanted to make sure I would be covered basically during the drive home and then I could add it the next day. He assured me that yes, we would definitely be covered and we had a certain amount of time to add the car to our policy. Then we get to the car dealership and are dealing with all the paperwork and at the car dealership they tell us we need to provide them with proof of insurance, that the new vehicle is on our policy. I said that our insurance agent said we didn’t need to add it yet, that we were covered. They just keep reiterating that they needed proof of insurance before we could buy the car. Then I went to call the insurance agent and of course, by then it’s something like 8:30 on a weeknight, he’s not available. I’m not sure if the dealership was wrong or our insurance agent was wrong. Even if we were covered by our policy (i.e. the dealership was wrong), I would have thought since I specifically called and asked about buying a new car that our agent might have commented that some dealerships require proof of insurance during the buying process” or something like that. I left a message for our agent but since we needed to buy the car that night (negotiations were a “this night or never” type thing), I ended up having to add the car on the insurance website, after resetting the password and other hassles. So…that was a pretty frustrating experience.
