My policy was actually transferred from a previous Horace Mann agent when he retired. The previous agent was a HUGE disappointment – he was not available even when I had a claim that needed to be submitted. I selected the company because it was what my parents had and I just chose to stay with the familiar. If I were to select a policy now, I would likely chose another entity. (I’m much happier with our GEICO auto coverage, even though we have no local agent.) When he assumed the policy, PJ visited our house and reviewed our policy. There were a couple of details and special elements that I felt he was not fully versed on, but in general, I was pleased. His office has followed up on several occasions. My only frustration is the extent to which they are pushing additional policies rather than listening to my position, concerns or needs related to the current policy.
