I had Allstate for my home and car insurance ever since i have been paying for my own insurance. When my daughter turned 17 and got her drivers license, they added her to my insurance. The premium went up really really high. I was not happy with the increase, so I started talking to the people i sit by at work about who they get their insurance through. One of the women i sit by suggested the WA Young agency. I called them and they found a company that would save me a couple hundred dollars. I told them my 17 year old daughter was on the insurance, but doesn’t live with me during the school year. They said they could mark her as a child living away from home” (or something similar). So i accepted the policy and moved on. After a year, the company called me to renew, at that time they decided to charge me an extra 400.00 because they decided my daughter’s University was not far enough from our home for her to be considered as living “away from home” At the time i was pretty mad at them, and haven’t called back to see if there are other options.
