1. In 2013 I had my residential roof replaced because it was three years and I was having trouble renewing my homeowners policy due to the age of my roof and also a prior sinkhole claim. Talking to my contractor/roofer he told me about his agent (Donald Whiting) and how he was able to help not only him, but many of his clients that had similar homeowner insurance issues. I then immediately contacted the Whiting Insurance Agency and set up an appointment to meet with my prospective agent. I was nervous because my husband is disabled and I didn’t think we can afford anything but Citizens and the difficulties in obtaining homeowners insurance in Florida, well I was wrong. My initial meeting I was greeted with respect and concern about my needs. Since I had very few options my agent was direct, but not pushy. He found that I did qualify for Lloyd’s of London and it was actually cheaper than I was currently paying. However, at the time I did not have $900 to pay an annual premium. He assisted me in getting financing through standard premium with a very small down payment, which he didn’t really have to do. During our meeting I was offered a beverage and a snack, which I found very accommodating since it was a little over an hour to get all the paperwork completed. As a matter of fact I just received a letter with paperwork from my agent because my policy renews on November 8, 2016. The paperwork included stickies for my signature and very clear instructions on how to proceed. I look forward to dropping off my paperwork next week and seeing my agent. I might add, I have referred two neighbors to the agency and both have their homeowners insurance through them.
