1. I while back, I had set up insurance through Geico with this particular agent, Steve Sprague. A friend had recommended him to me, and the location was convenient to where I lived. I had two cars to insure and did so with Steve’s help. I had no problems until a couple of years after setting up the insurance. I had taken my car in to have the battery changed at an independently owned car repair shop. Later that week, after fueling my car, I noticed smoke coming out of the hood over the engine. I jumped out of the car, but could not open the hood because it was burning hot. The fire department was across the street and they came and were able to put out the fire quickly but not before the entire electrical system was burned through. I was distraught as I needed this car for work transportation. I called Steve and he came out the next day to do the review. Within a week I had a judgement and a check for 7, 000 to purchase another vehicle. It turned out to be the fault of the auto mechanic who’d replaced the battery improperly which caused the wires to heat up and create a fire. It was such a relief to have such a great agent who executed my claim in such a timely and fair manner. I’ve had Geico insurance ever since that time.
