Medigap vs. Medicare Advantage Plans
Medigap is Medicare supplement insurance sold by private companies. The purpose of supplemental insurance is to fill the gaps of coverage left by Original Medicare Part A and B such as copays, coinsurance, and deductibles.
The average cost of supplemental insurance can be as lows as $50. A Medicare Advantage Plan or Medicare Part C is Medicare coverage similar to Original Medicare but administered by private health insurance companies.
Medigap and Medicare Advantage Plans must work separately. You can only have Original Medicare with Medigap supplements or a Medicare Advantage Plan, never both.
CSI Insurance for Medicare Reviews
How does CSI insurance stand up among its competitors? CSI insurance is available in 39 states and offers six of the twelve available Medigap plans.
Claims and customer service inquires are handled through the CSI insurance phone number. Although there is a CSI insurance provider portal, CSI insurance does not have an ease-of-access platform for its users.
In terms of rates, CSI insurance pairs closely with monthly premiums for a Medicare Advantage Plan. With that being said, it may not be worth it to receive supplemental coverage. A Medicare Advantage Plan may potentially cost less depending on the type of coverage you’re looking for.
